In a historic moment for India’s textile industry, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated Odisha TEX 2025, Eastern India’s largest textile and apparel summit declaring, “Odisha is poised to become the textile hub of Eastern India.” Organized by the Government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar, the event showcased the state’s rapid growth in textiles and apparel, backed by a world-class ecosystem for manufacturing, innovation, and employment generation.

Scarecrow helped the Government of Odisha with the design language for the event. The collaterals were placed at the strategic locations, which led to the event venue. The summit drew over 650 delegates, including global brands, leading textile companies, investors, tech providers, startups, and government officials. A major highlight was the signing of 33 MoUs, unlocking investments worth ₹7,808 crore and promising 53,300+ new jobs. Esteemed industry players like Page Industries, KPR Mills, Sportking, Adarsh Knitwear, and B.L. International participated, representing the entire textile value chain from yarn and fabrics to finished garments and technical textiles.

The CM announced enhanced subsidies under the Odisha Technical Textile & Apparel Policy 2022:
₹6,000/month per male worker (up from ₹5,000).
₹7,000/month per female worker (up from ₹6,000).
He also declared that Odisha TEX will now be an annual event, celebrating the state’s handloom heritage while advancing its modern textile and technical textiles sector.
With a vision to create 1 lakh+ textile jobs by 2030, Odisha is expanding textile clusters in Bolangir, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Jatsinghpur, Ganjam, and Cuttack.
