Innocence is what makes children truly special. However, innocence is often lost as they grow older. Celebrating this honesty and purity, Nickelodeon India launched #KhulkeBolo on Children’s Day, encouraging kids to be themselves and speak openly, without fear or filters.
As part of the initiative, Nickelodeon released a Children’s Day brand film that focused on how children remained untouched by layers of social conditioning, rules, and self-consciousness that burdened adults. The 30-second film opened in a classroom, where children were busy drawing under a teacher’s supervision. The protagonist showed his drawing to the teacher and asked if it was good. She replied that what mattered was the effort.
The film then shifted to a modern art museum, where the same kids and teacher were seen admiring an abstract sculpture. Breaking the silence of the museum, the protagonist repeated what he had learned from his teacher. Even if the result wasn’t great, the effort mattered. The teacher’s embarrassment subtly highlighted the child’s innocence. Conceptualised by Scarecrow, the film was aired across the Nickelodeon franchise and its social media platforms, garnering a phenomenal response from audiences.
Nickelodeon always keeps children at the core of everything it does. On their special day, the brand wanted to celebrate children with all their quirks and innocence, encouraging them to speak their minds openly and fearlessly, while urging everyone to reconnect with their inner child.
The Children’s Day campaign was promoted extensively on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Nickelodeon collaborated with prominent influencers and mommy bloggers to amplify the #KhulkeBolo message. The brand also celebrated Children’s Day at prominent malls in Mumbai and Delhi. Extending the campaign further, Nickelodeon partnered with Rohit Tiwari’s theatre group, Theatrewalas, to curate a street play that brought the #KhulkeBolo thought to life. The play was performed by child artists at Churchgate Terminus and other key locations across Mumbai.
