SCARECROW’S RAINBOW TWIST – A COLOURFUL BET ON CAR INSURANCE FOR POLICY BAZAAR

In 2021, Policybazaar transitioned from being a policy price comparison platform to becoming a full-fledged insurance-selling operation. By the end of that year, the company claimed to process nearly 25% of all life insurance and over 7% of retail health insurance in India. With a robust network of over 40 insurance providers, Policybazaar offered users the ability to log in via its website or app to research, compare, and purchase policies across categories, ranging from car and health to life, corporate, and travel insurance.

Towards the end of 2021, Policybazaar approached us at Scarecrow to promote their car insurance offering, which was being positioned at extremely competitive prices. With access to real-time information on pricing, benefits, and coverage directly from insurers, Policybazaar enabled users to find some of the lowest-priced car insurance options in the market.

To communicate this in a fun and memorable way, our creative team at Scarecrow came up with a humorous film. In it, a man proudly told his friend that he had found the cheapest car insurance policy. So confident was he that he boldly declared he would dye his moustache in rainbow colours if his friend could find a better deal. The friend calmly pulled out the Policybazaar App and immediately showed him a cheaper option. True to his word, and his embarrassment, the man was next seen sporting a bright, rainbow-coloured moustache. The quirky visual and light-hearted tone helped reinforce the brand promise, if it is cheaper, it is probably on Policybazaar
